Our Inn's namesake was a Revolutionary War hero who built the Stone House in 1760.

Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley between the Catskill and Shawangunk Mountains,

Captain Schoonmaker's is the perfect getaway for romance or relaxation. 

The area offers miles of beautiful hiking trails, fishing, antiquing, golf, biking, rock climbing, and dozens of fabulous restaurants.

Located upstairs in the c.1760 Stone House is a Large, Beautiful, Very Private room with 2 foot wide floor boards & exposed beams and stone walls.

The room Features a Queen size bed, sitting area by the Wood Burning Fireplace, Cable TV/VCR, clock radio, Air-conditioner,

ceiling fan, hairdryer, iron, small fridge & coffee maker. Four deep set windows are overlooking the Lawn, Gardens & Stream in the distance.

The cottage style bathroom is tucked under the eaves and has a whirlpool bathtub/shower & pedestal sink. There is a second sink & vanity in the bedroom. 

This room is available as a 2 bedroom suite, the second smaller bedroom has a Double Antique Iron Bed.

We are situated on 10 landscaped and wooded acres, with two seasonal waterfalls and the remains of a stone grist mill.   Depending on the season guests are welcome to sit by a cozy fire, fish in our trout stream  take a dip under  the waterfall or just relax in the hammock....The choice is yours

The Carriage House

The post and beam barn which was built in 1810, has been renovated to house our guests.  In different seasons enjoy seeing Whitetail deer, wild turkeys, Blue Heron, Black Bears, Muskrats, hawks and a large variety of birds from your balcony or windows

Canopy or 4 Poster beds are part of our Eclectic Early American decor.  Four air-conditioned rooms are furnished with country antiques. All rooms in the Carriage House have private bathrooms, and balconies over-looking the trout stream and woodlands. All rooms have bath amenities which include Bayberry Soap, Conditioning Shampoo, Hand lotion, Shower gel and Bath Salts for rooms with whirlpool tubs. There are No in-room televisions or phones to disturb you. TV/DVD player and guest phone are in the Solarium or Living Room of main house. A small guest refrigerator and hot water maker with tea & coffee  is available in the lobby of the Carriage House. A Senseo Pod Coffee Maker and Homemade Cookies are always available in the Library of the Stone House

Our Candlelit Country Gourmet breakfast is served on Antique China (a different service each day) in one of our dining rooms

 by an original Wood Burning Fireplace. We use local produce, farm products, Eggs from our own hens, homegrown herbs and vegetables whenever possible.

Your Breakfast may include delicacies such as: Pumpkin Pancakes w/ Cranberry Butter,

Apple Cheddar Quiche, Homemade Cinnamon Buns, Homemade Granola, Stuffed French toast, or Vegetable Frittata using our own

Farm Fresh Eggs as well as Home Baked Scones, Breads or Muffins, fruit juice, fresh fruits, sausage, ham or bacon, fresh ground coffee and teas.

Feel free to wander through the 1760 Stone House and enjoy Judy's Antique Collections! Many items are for sale!

Relax by the Wood Burning Stove in  our solarium, which is available for use as a common room by our guests,

with Cable TV/ DVD player with movie library and guest telephone. 

Sip lemonade on the deck or your balcony in spring & summer or hot cider by the fire in winter and fall.

Enjoy visits from Gypsy, Betty ,Dusty & our Chickens

And "Beau" Our Huge Golden Retriever!
